Mark Twain

Mark Twain was born in the state of Missouri in the United States in 1835. He spent his childhood on the west bank of the great Mississippi River.

Mark went to work at the age of 12.

In 1857 he became a sailor on the Mississippi river.

In 1876 he wrote "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". The book was read by everybody, by young and old and was translated into nearly every language in the world.

Mark Twain became famous in 1865.

He was a short story writer and the greatest American humorist.

Mark Twain was fond of collecting things which nobody had.
